Montespluga Infopoint also in summer

At the Spluga Pass, the furthest Italian infopoint from the sea is back in operation.

Montespluga Infopoint also in summer
The Upper Spluga Valley, still partially covered in snow as evidence of a long winter, has reopened its doors to international tourists and, with the return of the Info Point Montespluga project, will be able to offer information services and training opportunities during the summer season. After almost twenty years from the first experiment, last weekend the Info Point furthest from the sea was reactivated, located at 1908 meters above sea level, inside the Homeland Montespluga house, active during the winter period for the promotion of ski mountaineering and the splitboard.
This summer project sees a joint commitment of the Valchiavenna Mountain Community, the Municipality of Madesimo and the Madesimo and Valchiavenna tourist consortia for the valorisation of Montespluga, promoting sustainable tourism that is attentive to climate change. The president of the Valchiavenna Mountain Community, Davide Trussoni, underlined «the importance of the institution's commitment to managing the adaptation of climate change, highlighted by the signing of the charter in November 2022 which establishes its participation in the relevant mission ». The Montespluga Info Point, strongly supported by
Municipality of Madesimo and financed by the Mountain Community of Valchiavenna, will be operational on the following weekends: 13-14 July, 20-21 July, 27-28 July,
3-4 August, 10-18 August, 24-25 August, from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm. During the week of August it will be open continuously.
